Over 30 years’ experience as a leader in managed care pharmacy, including staff model HMO (Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound) and regional BCBS plans (Premera Blue Cross, Regence BlueShield of Washington). Served 15 years on the AMCP Format Executive Committee and is a former ISPOR board member. Affiliate Professor, Pharmacy at the University of Washington, Seattle.
Drug Evaluation and HTA
Created and/or managed formulary systems in hospital, health system, and network health plan settings.
Experience as a drug information pharmacist, formulary monograph writer, recommendations regarding formulary status and coverage policies of drugs, companion diagnostics, and related medical technologies. Consultant to ICER and BCBS Association.
Applied Bioethics
Experience applying principles of ethics to managed care situations involving conflicting duties of fidelity and stewardship, distribution of limited health care resources, and conflicts between individual autonomy and overall net benefit to society.
